Overview
Noveske 02000563 N4 Gen4 Recon 5.56 NATO 16" Stainless Barrel Rifle
The Noveske N4 Gen4 Recon 02000563 is a 16-inch 5.56 NATO rifle built around a stainless Recon barrel, Gen4 receiver set, ambidextrous controls, and a 15-inch NSR M-LOK handguard. The stainless barrel and Gen4 receiver architecture are the defining elements of the configuration, placing the rifle within Noveske's Recon line rather than a more basic carbine setup.
The rifle uses a mid-length gas system with a low-profile gas block pinned to the barrel. That arrangement keeps the gas block mechanically secured while allowing the 15-inch free-float handguard to extend forward around the barrel without direct contact.
Compared with a more conventional AR-pattern rifle assembled around generic components, the N4 Gen4 Recon is built around a coordinated Noveske receiver, barrel, gas system, and handguard package.
16-Inch Stainless Recon Barrel
The rifle uses a 16-inch stainless steel Recon barrel with a mid-length gas system. The gas block is a .750-inch low-profile unit pinned directly to the barrel.
The 16-inch barrel keeps the rifle within a standard carbine-length format while the stainless construction identifies it as the Recon barrel configuration used in this model.
Gen4 Receiver Set
The upper and lower receivers are Gen4 components machined from 7075-T6 aluminum. The lower incorporates ambidextrous bolt-release and magazine-release functions.
Those controls allow primary receiver functions to be accessed from either side of the rifle and are one of the main differences between the Gen4 lower and a conventional AR-pattern receiver with one-sided controls.
15-Inch NSR M-LOK Handguard
A 15-inch Noveske Gen4 NSR handguard surrounds the barrel and remains free-floating from it. The handguard provides M-LOK accessory mounting positions and a continuous 1913 Picatinny top rail.
Its length places the support surface close to the muzzle while preserving the free-float relationship between the handguard and barrel.
Ambidextrous Control Layout
In addition to the ambidextrous bolt and magazine controls built into the Gen4 lower receiver, the rifle uses a Noveske ambidextrous charging handle.
The control arrangement gives the Gen4 Recon a factory ambidextrous interface without requiring the primary receiver controls to be replaced after purchase.
Bolt Carrier Group
The bolt is specified as shot peened and magnetic-particle tested, while the carrier uses an auto-profile configuration with a staked carrier key.
These details relate directly to the manufacture, inspection, and assembly of the operating group rather than to the rifle's external appearance.
B5 Furniture
The rifle is fitted with a B5 Systems Bravo stock and B5 Type 23 grip. The stock rides on a six-position mil-spec receiver extension, with a Noveske QD end plate positioned at the rear of the receiver.
This keeps the rear furniture in a conventional adjustable AR-pattern layout while the barrel, receivers, controls, and handguard define the Noveske-specific configuration.

The Gen4 Recon Configuration
The N4 Gen4 Recon is defined by the combination of its 16-inch stainless barrel, mid-length gas system, Gen4 ambidextrous receiver set, and 15-inch NSR handguard. Those components establish the rifle's configuration more clearly than finish or furniture alone.
The B5 stock and grip, folding Magpul sights, ambidextrous charging handle, and Noveske receiver extension hardware complete the factory setup while leaving the stainless Recon barrel and Gen4 receiver architecture as the central mechanical features of the rifle.
