The VP9A1 F is the full-size model in HK's A1 revision of the VP9 series. This version ships optics ready with no optic installed.

The slide carries an optics cut that accepts most popular red dot sights through HK's nine-plate adapter system. Iron sights are a tritium front with a black serrated rear.

The most notable A1 improvement is the grip. Four replaceable backstraps ship with the pistol. The S and M backstraps change the circumference of the palmswell, while two additional backstraps adjust the distance from the trigger to the back of the grip. Combined with the interchangeable side panels, the user can create dozens of grip configurations.

The trigger is enhanced with a nickel-Teflon coating for a smoother pull and cleaner break. The slide has front and rear maritime serrations for an enlarged gripping area. A factory-flared magazine well speeds reloads, and a recess cut on the magazine body assists removal and retention.

HK's patented charging supports at the rear of the slide make racking the slide easier. The enlarged heavy-duty extractor also functions as a loaded chamber indicator. The extended Picatinny rail is rated for lights, lasers, aimers, and other accessory loads up to 5.6 ounces with no impact on performance.

Safety is a trigger safety latch. Unloaded weight is 23.28 ounces. Ships with one 17-round and one 20-round magazine.
