The USP Tactical is HK's answer for shooters who want Mark 23 capability in a smaller package. It takes the standard USP and adds an extended 4.86 inch threaded barrel and adjustable target-type sights, which is where most of the Mark 23's precision came from in the first place.
This is the 9mm model, built on the USP 9mm/40 frame. Fifteen plus one, three magazines, and adjustable night sights installed.
The V1 designation is the trigger. DA/SA with a safety and decocking lever on the left side of the frame. First round breaks double action, subsequent rounds single action, and the lever both decocks the hammer and serves as a manual safety. It is the traditional HK control layout and the one most agencies trained on for two decades.
The threaded muzzle is the reason to buy this over a standard USP. It takes a suppressor directly with no barrel swap and no gunsmithing, and the adjustable rear sight lets you re-zero for a can rather than living with the shift.
Adjustable target-type sights are uncommon on a duty-pattern pistol. They let you tune point of impact to a specific load rather than accepting whatever the fixed sights were regulated for.
