Overview
FAB Defense SPIKE Precision Bipod for Picatinny Rail
The FAB Defense SPIKE is a precision-oriented bipod designed for rifles equipped with a 1913 Picatinny rail. Its defining feature is the combination of independently adjustable legs with a rotating head that provides both pan and tilt movement, giving the shooter a stable support platform while still allowing controlled movement behind the rifle.
The SPIKE uses a hybrid construction that combines hardened steel, 6061-T6 aluminum, and high-performance polymer components. This keeps the structure rigid where it matters while avoiding unnecessary weight. The Picatinny version mounts directly to a compatible 1913 rail and is intended for precision, sporting, and tactical rifle applications.
Key Features
- Designed for 1913 Picatinny rail mounting
- Four locking leg positions: 0, 45, 90, and 135 degrees
- Adjustable rotating head with pan and tilt capability
- Approximately 60 degrees of pan movement
- Approximately 20 degrees of tilt movement
- Pan and tilt movement can be locked or released for target tracking
- Independent leg adjustment
- Leg height range from approximately 180 mm to 290 mm at the 90-degree position
- Quick leg extension by pulling the leg downward
- Push-button leg retraction
- Rectangular inner legs for added rigidity
- Rubberized feet for traction on hard surfaces
- Tool-less replaceable feet
- Hybrid steel, aluminum, and polymer construction
Four-Position Leg System
Each SPIKE leg can be locked at 0, 45, 90, or 135 degrees. This gives the shooter more control over rifle height and footprint than a bipod limited to a single deployed angle. The wider 45- and 135-degree positions can be useful when a lower or broader support stance is needed, while the conventional 90-degree position provides the standard upright bipod configuration.
Leg length is also independently adjustable, allowing the rifle to be leveled on uneven terrain. The height range is approximately 180 mm to 290 mm when the legs are positioned at 90 degrees.
Pan and Tilt Adjustment
The SPIKE head provides approximately 60 degrees of horizontal pan and 20 degrees of tilt. These movements can be left free for controlled target tracking or locked down when a more rigid firing position is preferred.
This adjustable head is one of the key differences between the SPIKE and a fixed bipod. It allows the shooter to make small directional and cant corrections without repositioning the bipod feet after every movement.
Leg Construction and Adjustment
The inner legs use a rectangular profile rather than a conventional round tube. This geometry is intended to increase rigidity and stability. Leg extension is handled by pulling the leg down to the desired position, while a push-button release allows rapid shortening.
Rubberized feet provide traction on common shooting surfaces and can be replaced without tools. Alternate replacement feet can also be used when a different interface with the ground is preferred.

Compatibility Note: This listing is for the Picatinny-rail version of the FAB Defense SPIKE. It mounts to rifles equipped with a compatible 1913 Picatinny rail. FAB Defense also offers a separate M-LOK version for rifles using a direct M-LOK mounting interface.
Why the SPIKE Stands Out
The SPIKE is designed for shooters who need more adjustment than a basic folding bipod provides. Its independently adjustable legs, four selectable leg angles, variable height, and lockable pan-and-tilt head allow the rifle to be positioned around the terrain instead of forcing the shooter to work around a fixed support geometry.
For rifles already equipped with a Picatinny rail, this version provides a direct mounting solution without requiring an additional M-LOK adapter or rail section.
