Description

Benelli M2-G1 Tactical Shotgun in Flat Dark Earth (FDE) Cerakote, Item 11617

The Benelli 11617 is the Flat Dark Earth model of the M2-G1, Benelli's 2026 gas-operated tactical shotgun. It pairs the full tactical configuration, a 5-position telescoping stock with upgraded pistol grip and 7+1 capacity, with FDE Cerakote on the receiver and barrel over black synthetic furniture. Cerakote is a ceramic-based finish chosen for hard use: it resists corrosion, abrasion, and chemicals better than conventional bluing, and its earth tone stays subdued in the field. Botach stocks the 11617 and prices it below the $2,149 MSRP.

Key Features

  • FDE Cerakote receiver and barrel. Ceramic coating for corrosion and wear resistance, in a non-reflective earth tone.
  • RPO gas system. The first gas-operated M2. Dual short-stroke pistons at the chamber, recoil assembly sealed in the stock away from fouling.
  • 5-position telescoping stock with length of pull from 9-1/4 to 14 inches, plus an upgraded pistol grip.
  • 7+1 capacity from the factory extended magazine tube.
  • Ghost ring sights and Picatinny rail, receiver drilled and tapped for optics.
  • M-Lok forend, enlarged controls, beveled loading port with ramped trigger guard, QD sling mounts.
  • Parkerized bolt, Modified choke installed, 10-year limited warranty.

The RPO Operating System

Rear Piston Operated is the new gas system Benelli built for the M2-G1. Gas is collected close to the chamber by two short-stroke pistons, and the recoil assembly lives in the stock where carbon and debris cannot reach it. The payoff is a tactical semi-auto that runs cleaner between maintenance intervals and strips down simpler than forward-mounted gas designs. Benelli keeps the M4 and its ARGO system as the military benchmark; the M2-G1 is the cleaner-running, lower-cost line beside it.

Benelli 11617 vs the Other M2-G1 Models

Mechanically, the 11617 matches the 11612 and the 11622: same RPO action, same telescoping pistol grip stock, same 7+1 capacity. The choice is finish. The 11612 is black with an anodized gray receiver at a $2,049 MSRP. The 11622 wears MultiCam Black at the same $2,149 MSRP as this FDE model. Prefer a fixed stock? The 11611 keeps 7+1 in a standard configuration. Compare all five on our Benelli M2-G1 category page.

What is the difference between the Benelli 11617 and 11612?

Finish and $100 of MSRP. Both are M2-G1 shotguns with the telescoping pistol grip stock and 7+1 capacity. The 11617 has FDE Cerakote on the receiver and barrel at a $2,149 MSRP. The 11612 is matte blued with an anodized gray receiver at $2,049.

Is the stock on the 11617 also FDE?

No. The FDE Cerakote covers the receiver and barrel. The stock, pistol grip, and forend are black synthetic from the factory, a two-tone configuration.

Why choose Cerakote over a blued finish?

Durability. Cerakote is a thin ceramic coating that outperforms traditional bluing against rust, scratches, and solvents. On a working shotgun that rides in trucks, safes, and the field, the finish holds up longer with less upkeep.
