Overview
Uberti 342341 1866 Yellowboy Deluxe 150th Anniversary .45 Colt 20" Lever-Action Rifle
The Uberti 1866 Yellowboy Deluxe 150th Anniversary 342341 is a commemorative .45 Colt lever-action rifle built around one of the earliest successful centerfire repeating rifle designs of the American West. This special-edition configuration combines a 20-inch barrel, traditional toggle-link action, brass receiver, walnut furniture, and anniversary-specific detailing in a rifle that stays visually and mechanically close to the classic Model 1866 pattern.
The Model 1866 is immediately recognizable for its brass receiver, which gave rise to the "Yellowboy" nickname. Uberti's reproduction preserves that defining feature along with the external hammer, side loading gate, tubular magazine, and traditional lever-action operating system.
150th Anniversary Yellowboy Deluxe
This 342341 model was produced as a 150th Anniversary edition of the 1866 Yellowboy. The commemorative configuration gives collectors a more distinctive version of the standard 1866 while retaining the traditional construction and controls that define the platform.
Rather than modernizing the rifle with contemporary furniture or accessory rails, Uberti keeps the anniversary model focused on period styling. The polished brass receiver, traditional wood stock and forearm, and classic barrel profile reinforce the historic appearance of the design.
.45 Colt Chambering
Chambered in .45 Colt, the Yellowboy Deluxe combines one of the most familiar modern Western-action cartridges with the classic 1866 lever-action platform. The caliber is widely used in Cowboy Action shooting and is a natural choice for shooters who prefer to pair a lever-action rifle with a revolver chambered for the same cartridge.
The tubular magazine provides an 11-round listed capacity, giving the rifle the traditional loading and balance characteristics associated with full-length lever-action magazine systems.
20-Inch Barrel Configuration
The 20-inch barrel keeps the rifle relatively compact while preserving the proportions and handling characteristics expected from a traditional Model 1866. Compared with longer sporting-rifle configurations, the shorter barrel reduces overall length and forward weight, making the rifle easier to handle during range use, Cowboy Action stages, and general recreational shooting.
Traditional Toggle-Link Lever Action
The Uberti 1866 uses the traditional toggle-link action associated with the original design. Cycling the lever extracts and ejects the fired cartridge case, lifts the next round from the tubular magazine into alignment with the chamber, chambers the cartridge, and cocks the external hammer.
Cartridges are loaded through the side loading gate in the receiver, allowing the magazine to be replenished without removing the magazine tube. This operating layout is one of the defining characteristics of the 1866 and the later 1873 platform.
Brass Receiver and Walnut Furniture
The brass receiver is the visual centerpiece of the 1866 Yellowboy and the feature that most clearly separates it from the steel-receiver Model 1873 that followed. Combined with traditional walnut furniture and blued steel components, the rifle maintains the contrasting metal-and-wood appearance closely associated with the historic platform.
