The new G33 magnifier is shorter and lighter than the G23. It offers a new and improved mount providing faster transitioning from 3x to 1x, tool free azimuth adjustment, larger field of view and an adjustable diopter for improved, more precise focusing. This new G33 is an affordable magnified solution that will transition a fielded HWS into a lethal medium range optic. Superior light transmission and a large field of view helps this magnifier put the competition to shame. This rugged, streamlined optic offers split-second transitioning from CQB to medium range targeting. This is the 3rd Generation of L3 EOTech magnifiers. It offers more eye relief with windage and elevation adjustments that can be manipulated by hand, without any tools. The new slap to side mount is incredibly durable and operates with the slap of your hand, knocking the mount to the side. The G33 also offers a locking, quick detach lever for easy attachment and removal of both the optic and the mount. This magnifier aligns perfectly with standard height sights and comes with a 7mm riser to accommodate the 7mm raised sights. G33 with new Quick Switch to Side (STS) mount is faster than ever, just push the magnifier to the side and it will lock securely in that position until you push it back into place for magnified viewing.

I absolutely love this magnifier and have installed it on two different AR platforms. For me anyway, it makes the holographic sight on the EOTechs crystal clear (and magnified of course).
So why not five stars? Because EOTech cant figure out how to include an FDE base with it. They do it for all of the holographic sights but not the G33 magnifier in FDE. Ugh. I will be taking mine for some Kote.
I ordered the magnifier on 8/9. Botach had a great price for it, lowest I could find. The item shipped the free the next day and Botach added the nice feature of signature required which is a gppd way to safeguard the package not disappearing from the doorway. It arrived today, 8/12. That was very fast for free shipping. It's easy to install.
I put it on a Ruger AR-556 in combination with a Eotech EXPS2-2. it fits perfectly behind the Eotech HWS (with the sight all the way forward on the rail) and the backup sights.
This clarity is fantastic; was able to easily focus using the diopter control to get a nice sharp sight picture and sharp image of the HWS 1 MOA dots. I'll be taking it to the range tomorrow to put it through some operational paces.
For CQB my sight of choice on a long gun is an EOTech; the G33 extends that functionality to greater distances, The STS feature makes it easy to deploy the magnifier for longer shots and move it out of the way for close in but even for close quarters it is still highly functional using the magnifier. I also liked the rail mount and quick release. It's easy to to adjust to get the right tension.
The unit comes with a riser. The riser is needed for any of the EOTech HWS's that have the brightness adjustments on the side and/or the quick release mount. For all the other HWS's don't use the riser. Attaching the riser and magnifier to the mount is straightforward, all you need is a phillips head screwdriver. The tensioner screw to adjust the tightness of the mount on the rail can be adjusted easily by hand or with a flat head screwdriver.
All in all this was an outstanding deal from Botach for a top notch piece of equipment. I highly recommend the G33 and Botach
