  • A big myth in the knife world is that out there somewhere is a knife that seriously cuts but cannot rust. Knives claiming these super powers are usually made with steels that are unable to hold a cutting edge for any measurable amount of time. Finally a steel foundry in Japan called Myodo Foundry makes this myth a reality with the introduction of a new steel called H1. H1 steel is a PH steel, meaning it is a precipitation-hardened steel. Brand new from Spyderco is this dynamic 3rd gen Pacific Salt 2, with its Endura® one-piece handle design and the ultra-corrosion-resistant properties of H-1 steel, the original Pacific Salt was an incredibly capable full-service folding knife. What it lacked, however, were the improvements that made the current Endura 4 even better than its predecessor. Brand new from Spyderco is this dynamic 3rd gen Pacific Salt 2, with its Endura® one-piece handle design and the ultra-corrosion-resistant properties of H-1 steel, the original Pacific Salt was an incredibly capable full-service folding knife. What it lacked, however, were the improvements that made the current Endura 4 even better than its predecessor. The Pacific Salt 8 includes a high-traction Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern, enhanced handle ergonomics, and a versatile four-position pocket clip. In addition to these features, this knife integrates an H-1 blade with a linerless handle in a shining example of Spyderco's passion for Constant Quality Improvement (C.Q.I.).
