Handcuffs & Restraints
Handcuffs are among the most essential pieces of equipment carried by law enforcement officers, corrections personnel, security professionals, and military users. A dependable set of restraints allows professionals to safely control and transport subjects while protecting both the officer and the individual being restrained. Choosing the right restraint system means considering your duty environment, department policy, and the level of control a given situation requires.
At Botach, we carry a comprehensive selection of professional restraints, including chain handcuffs, hinged handcuffs, rigid models, disposable restraints, leg irons, transport chains, handcuff keys, and duty cases. Whether you're outfitting an entire agency or replacing a worn set of duty cuffs, you'll find trusted brands backed by competitive pricing, fast shipping, and knowledgeable customer service.

Types of Handcuffs and Restraints
Chain Handcuffs
Chain handcuffs connect the two bows with a short length of chain, allowing greater range of motion between the cuffs. This flexibility makes application easier in dynamic situations and is generally more comfortable during extended transport. Chain models remain the most widely issued style for general patrol duty.
Hinged Handcuffs
Hinged handcuffs replace the chain with a rigid hinge, significantly limiting wrist rotation and movement. The reduced mobility provides greater subject control, making hinged models a common choice for higher-risk contacts and situations where additional restraint is warranted.
Rigid Handcuffs
Rigid restraints use a solid bar between the bows, offering the highest degree of control by nearly eliminating movement between the wrists. The rigid body can also assist with subject control and escort techniques taught in many professional training programs.
Disposable Restraints
Disposable restraints, sometimes called flex cuffs or zip tie restraints, are lightweight, single-use devices designed for mass arrest scenarios, crowd control, and situations where carrying multiple sets of steel cuffs isn't practical. Their low weight and compact profile make them easy to carry in quantity as a supplement to standard duty restraints.
Leg Irons and Transport Restraints
Leg irons, belly chains, and transport chain systems are used primarily in corrections and prisoner transport applications where extended restraint is required. These systems are typically deployed according to agency policy and the specific security requirements of the transport.
Handcuff Keys and Accessories
Replacement keys, extended-reach keys, handcuff cases, and duty pouches round out a complete restraint setup.
