Excellent protection for the money. The only way this could be better is if it had a poly coating and was 1# lighter. You can find plates that meet that criteria, but they are 10x the price. This plate is a fantastic value for the $.

Botach has shady business practices. I never got the plates I ordered. My order initially showed pending for several days before it was abruptly cancelled - poof, gone. Before I had a chance to inquire, and without first contacting me, my account mysteriously showed again a pending order and I received a "your order has shipped" email. I did get plates eventually but they were the ones with the 5 year warranty instead of the 10 year warranty...confirmed by my invoice. It's not worth trying to return unreturnable plates and I'm guessing botach knew I wouldn't even try. Congratulations Botach, you got me this time but I will never order anything from you again and that's a promise

These plates came individually wrapped in just bubble wrap and a little bit of paper on one side. That would have been ok if these were steel plates but these are part ceramic. The box was crushed and the bubble wrap on the crushed side was all deflated. The ceramic didn't feel compromised but please pack your armor better Botach. Also, these plates don't have that Battle Steel logo on the front like in the picture (just FYI, not a big deal). I also appreciated the fact that these are in fact a full 10x12 inches. The last set of armor I had weren't a full 10 inches wide. They are a little bit heavier than 4.5 lbs too. Mine weighed 4 lbs, 12 ounces and 4 lbs, 13 ounces for the other.

For the average joe these are some of the best plates available. No, they're not the most protection, or the lightest, but they cost a third or less while retaining reasonable protection and weight. If you are like me and armor is something you want and value, but spending $300-600 per plate isn't realistic, these are an excellent choice. Multi-curve is worth it for at least your front plate unless you are very skinny and flat profiled.

Sold me on the polyurea coating. I believe it is far superior to a cloth covering. Will order 2nd plate, now that I have inspected this plate. I am confident it will stop M855 and lesser calibers.
